Hrádek u Nechanic
Chateau Hrádek u Nechanic looks just like a princess' palace and has been seen as backdrop in several Czech films.
This location is attractive for both romantic souls and filmmakers. Since 1964, the year of the very first filming on site, dozens of fairy tales, detective and romantic films, dramas and series have been shot here. In Dark Blue World, the chateau served as a training area for Czech pilots. The comic scene in which they ride bicycles, simulating place crashes, was not a desperate figment of the screenwriters; it was based on real-life stories told by war veterans - this kind of training was common with even the most experienced pilots.
