Prague
St. Giles' Church
The camera moves slowly on the high church arch, like a human eye awed by the magnificence of the construction. It suddenly stops at the altar and a few wedding guests. Mozart has conquered Vienna, Prague and Constanze's heart. You may now kiss the bride, Mr Mozart.
Despite Mozart's superstardom in his times, his wedding took place virtually unnoticed and without the blessing from his father. Mozart and Constanze exchanged their vows in the splendid interiors of St. Giles' Church in the middle of Prague. Mozart later took the side exit door for his last journey.
The church is a gem of ecclesiastical architecture in Prague. It's easy to understand why Mozart loved visiting the capital. It inspired him so much he composed his famous opera Don Giovanni here. His people of Prague simply understand him.
