Na Kampě

Up to the Venice of Prague! The historical Kampa and the mill race Čertovka (meaning something like Devil's spot) is without a doubt one of the most magical places of old Prague. Is there any wonder why film crews, both Czech and international, like to visit often?

The vampire hunter Van Helsing faced a real beast on the street Na Kampě. Willingly or not, he was forced to negotiate the fate of princess Anna with one of Dracula's brides. Hollywood film-makers also spent some time here to shoot a few takes of the hit film Mission Impossible. This is where agent Tom Cruise and Kristin Scott Thomas were leaning on each other, watching enemy spies. And guess what? Prague really did play the role of Prague in this case, only the US Embassy was placed in the Lichtenstein Palace.

Kampa and Čertovka are very popular with Czech film productions. If your Czech friends or family are film fans, feel free to ask them. You'll have your answer in no time, as some of the classical Czech films were partly made here.
