Předklášteří u Tišnova
Porta coeli Convent
There is only one way to foil an up-and-running satanic ritual. Doctor Runa (Ivan Trojan) knows it can only be achieved by displaying the blood of the holy sacrifice in front of those who can crush snakes. And the rite must be performed at Heaven’s Gate.
Latin scholars will not be surprised that the seasoned expert on the occult visits the Porta coeli Convent, as the name means “Heaven’s Gate”. The most interesting aspect of the building architecturally is its richly decorated Gothic portal featuring statues of saints. It was right in front of them that Doctor Runa raised the cross from the crown jewels.
The television drama The Devil’s Ruse reaches a climax in front of the Cistercian convent in Tišnov in South Moravia. It was founded in the 13th century by the wife of Ottokar I of Bohemia, Constance of Hungary. Unlike the trilogy’s heroes, you can exit the decorated doorway. Through it you will not find heaven but the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary instead, containing an inner cloister is also accessible.
